This November, Birdwood Mansion welcomes Chef Brother Luck, chef and owner of Four by Brother Luck in Colorado Springs, recently named a MICHELIN Guide Recommended Restaurant in the 2026 Colorado selection. (Visit Colorado Springs)
For this special five-course dinner, Chef Luck created a menu inspired by generations of his family—from Marcellus Luck of Pittsylvania County in 1833 through the Luck family of Danville and Pittsburgh, culminating with Chef Brother M.H. Luck IV.
Expect Southern ingredients and culinary traditions interpreted through Chef Luck's contemporary style, with an emphasis on local Virginia ingredients and foraged products.
This residency is a homecoming. Chef Brother Luck’s family story begins in Pittsylvania County and Danville, Virginia, and he is the first man of his name to return to the state in roughly a century. After years of genealogical research tracing seven generations of his family, he is bringing that history to the table. The menu translates documented family foodways into modern fine dining, from the banks of the Dan River to his grandmother’s Louisiana kitchen, built on heirloom Southern ingredients, family recipes, and Virginia ingredients. Guests won’t just taste the food. They’ll hear the story behind every course.
Brother Luck is in partnership with Wolfe Cutlery, one of the industry’s finest tools for professional chefs and aspiring home cooks looking for cutlery that is precise, balanced and built to perform.
Alongside Chef Luck’s guest residency, guests will have the opportunity to participate in an exclusive culinary workshop featuring the same Wolfe Cutlery used by Chef Luck and his team in their Michelin-recommended restaurant.

Owner & Chef Kitty of Monsoon Siam delighted guests with a dining experience showcasing the vibrant flavors and traditions of Thailand. Guests enjoyed a thoughtfully curated five-course Asian family-style menu, inspired by Thailand's royal cuisine, bustling street markets, and regional specialties, all served in the historic elegance of Birdwood Mansion.
Chef Ronald Duprat

Ron Duprat is an award-winning chef was a standout on Top Chef. He was named Industry Chef of the Year by the Black Culinarian Alliance and serves with the U.S. Department of State’s Chef Corps as an advocate for food justice, childhood nutrition and culinary education. His residency at Birdwood Mansion coincided with the mansion's grand opening in June of 2026.
Chef Mathieu Chartron
Visiting Date: April 2026
Chef Mathieu Chartron served as our inaugural guest chef and assisted with our restaurant launch. Raised in his family’s hotel and restaurant France, Chartron built his career in acclaimed kitchens including Restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris and Las Vegas. During his residency, guests experienced curated tasting menus that marked the beginning of Birdwood Mansion’s guest chef series.
