Birdwood Mansion Opens Advance Bookings
Charlottesville, VA (November 11, 2025) – Birdwood Mansion, the storied 19th-century estate that is being transformed into new luxury boutique seven-room hotel and events destination, is pleased to announce the launch of its official website and the commencement of advance bookings. Accessible at www.birdwoodmansion.com, individuals may begin booking stays in March 2026, while perusing preliminary information about the forthcoming experience within.
In booking a Birdwood Mansion experience, guests may opt for individual leisure stays within one of the four curated accommodations in the main house and three adjacent cottages currently undergoing a restoration and redesign, or they can book full buyouts for private group retreats, events, and other occasions. No matter the function, Birdwood Mansion stands poised to welcome guests soon to enjoy a bespoke hospitality experience featuring white glove service, luxury in-room amenities, and thoughtful offerings such as welcome champagne and daily breakfast.
To complement a stay, the property is curating a signature culinary experience for The Dining Room at Birdwood Mansion, the forthcoming 42-seat restaurant inside that will be helmed by newly appointed Executive Chef Joel Myers. Upon its debut, the restaurant will deliver a seasonal dining program that celebrates both the surrounding Charlottesville region and the history of the Mansion to guests and local residents. The Dining Room at Birdwood Mansion will also feature a bespoke Afternoon Tea service inspired by the locale.
Alongside the dining service, Birdwood Mansion will introduce a Resident Chef Program, an exciting initiative that will present the diverse culinary talents, flavors, techniques, and innovations of rotating visiting guest chefs from around the world. The curated lineup will feature world-class guest chefs—from Michelin-recognized veterans to emerging superstars—who will each craft one-of-a-kind dining experiences for in-house guests and Charlottesville residents. The Resident Chef Program will also incorporate a teaching component where guest chefs will work with the hotel to develop hands-on culinary classes, workshops, and other events.
The Birdwood Mansion experience will be further enhanced by its surrounding gardens set on nearly 12 acres of beautifully manicured land, which will offer a dedicated pool and the Whispering Garden, a secret hideaway that will beckon guests to discover the lush local trees and flowers. More than just a private retreat setting, the Mansion will serve as an extraordinary location for events, weddings and celebrations of all kinds held on its sweeping lawns that can host everything from intimate soirées to larger affairs.
Guests of Birdwood Mansion will also have access to the range of facilities and amenities offered at the surrounding Boar’s Head Resort, including the picturesque Birdwood Golf courses and facilities; tranquil spa; expansive sports club, offering abundant tennis, pickleball, squash, and newly added padel courts; state-of-the-art aquatics center, and more.
The launch of Birdwood Mansion is slated for early 2026. For more preliminary information, please visit www.birdwoodmansion.com.
